SGH doctor on whether sleeping on your right side increases risk of acid reflux

According to information found on the Internet, sleeping on your left side aids digestion and lowers risk of heartburn, while sleeping on your right side may lead to acid reflux and indigestion. Dr Han Hong Juan, Consultant, Dept of Otolaryngology, cited studies that do suggest that high-risk adults (middle aged, overweight or those diagnosed with sleep apnea) are more susceptible to acid reflux if they sleep on their right side.
